Educator Accountability
Operation Public Education began developing its accountability system in Spring 2000, with the creation of study groups and, ultimately, design teams that brought the key education stakeholders together to grapple with issues of student achievement and accountability. More than 100 teachers, administrators, and school board members from at least a dozen school districts across Pennsylvania participated in these activities over the subsequent two years. At the end of this process OPE took the work of these teams and transformed it- adding insight from years of experience with standards reform and the expertise of leading educators from throughout the nation - into a comprehensive accountability system for Pennsylvania (see documents below) as well as other states and districts.
