Value-Added Assessment in Iowa Iowa Association of School Boards (IASB) is partnering with EVASS operated by Dr. William Sanders in Cary, North Carolina. IASB is using the EVASS method of managing and analyzing student assessment data, to offer member districts a thoughtful, statistically sound system that enhances the ability of school leaders to use assessment data to make decisions that improve student achievement. Iowa's new system provides training to help educators and board members understand data and make best use of data tools. In addition to assistance from district staff and Web teleconference capabilities, IASB is developing workshops to help board members understand and use value-added assessment data at the board table.i Links to important websites Iowa Department of Education, http://www.state.ia.us/educate Iowa Association of School Boards, "Introducing Value-Added Assessment System (IVAAS)," http://www.ia-sb.org/services/ivaas.pdf i Iowa Association of School Boards, "Introducing Value-Added Assessment System (IVAAS)," http://www.ia-sb.org/services/ivaas.pdf back to map | |||||||||
